1. History Development. In 1978, the Swiss armed forces formulated requirements for a successor to the Stgw 57 battle rifle (known commercially as the SG 510) using the 7.5×55mm Schmidt–Rubin cartridge.Emphasis was placed on modularity; the weapon family was to include several variants of the base design, including a compact carbine that would be issued to rear-echelon and support troops.

Things I liked: I bought this for kicks and the price for a Swiss Arms rifle is so low I got it. It sat for 8 months as I didn't have a chance to tune it, it is accurate. The price is unbeatable. When it first went off, I could tell from the vapor trail that I never tuned it or sited it. Quarter size range (1 inch) with alloy pellets.

Things I would have changed: The rifle had loose screws and joints which were easy to remedy. The scope is mid-level, which could be better. Loud! Nothing absorbs the shock and there is a noticeable kick. The trigger is way off the sweet spot. Those two things are my guess at the reviews claiming low accuracy..(maybe?). My experience was, this barrel and this combination of shoulder rest is awesome and dead-on accurate).. I was surprised at the power and noise this gun released the first time. That has gone down somewhat over time..or I'm imagining it has.

What others should know: The unique look of this gun makes it toy-like. I don't mind that, it's different, sometimes I get concerned the neighbors think I'm discharging a firearm when it gets above average in loudness.

Things I liked: This rifle is accurate out of the box! Don't know how the scope is that comes with it because I put one on that I had ordered weeks b4. Put the scope on and set up a target and started shooting. The first shot was a little right. 6 click to the left I was at bulls eye. My Benjamin Titan .22 took 500 shots to get this accuracy. This rifle is powerful,accurate, and well balanced. People with bad reviews needs to learn how to shoot a springger or a NP. It shoots accurate with Crosman Premier hollow point 7.9 grain. Hitting quarter size targets at 20 yards. Did a penetration test with the Benjamin Titan .22 and the TG-1 at 30 yards and both equal in damage to a 55 gal drum. For you preppers this would be a good collection to your arsenal. Silent hunt small game without giving up you location. Has open sights that work well in case scope gives out. 5 STARS FOR THIS ONE...

What others should know: Learn to shoot a springger or gas ram gun.Test out different holds and pellets. Main thing is to have patient when learning a gun and at the end it will be rewarding.
